HomeWarming, delivered by EfficiencyOne, gives income-qualified Nova Scotians a free heat pump and any electrical panel upgrade needed, plus other no-cost energy upgrades. Federal funding announced June 29, 2026 is expanding it.
The province funds free heat pumps for low-income households through HomeWarming, and past participants can apply again for the newer support[1]. In June 2026 the federal Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program began funding an expansion of HomeWarming and the African Nova Scotian Communities Retrofit program, covering no-cost upgrades including heat pumps[2].
